Certification submissions have now started and the first shipment of New Zealand oils will be sent to the DPI in Australia for testing this Friday. All Olives NZ members will have received documentation and this can also be downloaded by members from the Olives NZ website – http://www.olivesnz.org.nz. Non-members interested in joining and accessing certification should contact ONZ executive officer Gayle Sheridan by email at: admin@olivesnz.org.nz. Sheridan said there will be regular shipments to the DPI from now until the end of the harvest season, however 9 August is the final date for submission of oils to meet the entry deadline for the New Zealand Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards. Certified oils are eligible to use the ONZ OliveMark® , the country’s trademarked guarantee that the oil is actually EVOO, so get your oils in quickly to make the most of this great marketing boost.
