Victoria’s Cobram Estate took out the coveted title of Champion Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil of Show at the Sydney Royal Spring Fine Food Show this week. Cobram’s Light Flavour Intensity Olive Oil also won Champion Commercial Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The 2014 competition received 116 entries, with a total of 91 medals (16 Gold) awarded; a 23% increase on 2013. Other top winners include A&D Hodgson, Champion Flavour Infused Olive Oil – Grumpy Grandma’s Wood Smoked Olive Oil; Alto Olives, Champion Varietal Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Alto Vividis, and L’Oliveto, Champion Boutique Extra Virgin Olive Oil – L’Oliveto 116.
