There was excellent newspaper coverage of this year’s awards, accompanied by Olives New Zealand advertising in the three main daily papers – DomPost – Life, Herald – Bite, and Press – Zest. There was also great coverage in regional newspapers and on Radio New Zealand, which provided a great opportunity to raise the public awareness of NZ EVOO and the OliveMark quality symbol. Olives NZ executive officer Gayle Sheridan said members received “fabulous coverage of their success in the 2013 NZ EVOO Awards by both national and regional media – newspapers and radio. The interviews provide an insight into how the winners manage their olive groves, harvest and sell their finished products, and allow consumers to get to know the people who make the olive oil they buy.” Listen to the Radio New Zealand interview with international head judge Sue Langstaff here.
