Winners of the 11th Fiesta! Olive Awards, organised by Fleurieu Food, were announced at an awards dinner on 7 November. A record number of 25 oil entries were received, with 13 Bronze, 7 Silver and 3 Gold medals awarded. Table olive entries were also up, the record 13 entries receiving 4 Bronze, 4 Silver and 3 Gold medals. Head judge Briony Liebich said the excellent results were not surprising, as the Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island regions are known for consistently high-quality olive products. The Vince Scarfo Trophy for Best Oil in Show was awarded to Nangkita Olives’ Koroneiki, with the Punter’s Pick award won by Primo Estate’s Joseph Cold Press. Best Table Olive went to Two Hills and a Creek’s Kalamata and the inaugural Best Packaged EVOO went to Esposito of Kangaroo Island. Congratulations to all medal and award winners.
