Olives NZ EO Gayle Sheridan has advised that Certification documentation will be emailed out to all Olives New Zealand grower members in April, ready for Certification submissions from 29 May onwards.
“Unfortunately, the Oil Testing Service has increased its fee by AUD6.96 per oil and, while ONZ has kept the price of certification the same for more than five years, it must reluctantly pass this cost increase on. Therefore the 2017 certification fee rises from $242 per oil to $250, including GST,” Sheridan said.
“This is also a good time to remind producers that the OliveMark can only be used on certified EVOO that is no more than two years old. If you are still selling 2015 oil then you must stop using the OliveMark on the containers from the anniversary date.”
