A small estate of 1000 trees, Talumberi Olives, won the Best Commercial Oil of Show award in the 2007 Hunter Olive Association’s Olive Show, having lodged entries for the first time this year.

Most entries received were from groves in the Hunter Valley, but also from other parts of Australia and even New Zealand. The award winning oil, Robust Corregiola, was described by the judges, headed by Peter Olsen from Wagga DPI, as having a sweet herbaceous nose, green apple on the palate, good balance, and long late pungency.

Another Talumberi oil, Peppery Frantoio, won a Silver Medal in the National Extra Virgin Olive Oil Show announced in Canberra in October. Both oils were processed at the Adina Olive Mill.
