Australian and New Zealand olive producers are invited to be part of A Guide to Australian and New Zealand Olive Oils 2010, a joint endeavor between Ryan Publications, publisher of Olivegrower & Processor magazine and The Olive Industry Directory, and Jenny Birrell, olive oil retailer (Melbourne) and editor of The Guide.

Both share a strong commitment to the promotion of the Australian and New Zealand olive industry.

Submissions are now welcome for the 2010 edition of The Guide, to be released in late September 2009.

Margi Kirkby, a long-standing member of the Australian Olive Associations Organoleptic Panel, will assess the oils and determine its particular style – delicate, medium or robust.

According to editor of The Guide, Jenny Birrell, previous editions have received widespread acclaim from the industry, media and general public.

“The 2010 Guide will be approximately 150 pages and entries listed will be categorised by Country, State/Island,” she said.”As well as including valuable information about groves, the Guide will feature favourite recipes and useful tips, using their oils, from participating groves.”

The Guide is designed to be a ready reference to all olive oil producers both large and small across Australia and New Zealand. It aims to promote:
– a public awareness of the Australian and New Zealand olive oil industries
– the many health benefits and culinary uses of extra virgin olive oil
– a conduit for growers and producers to the market place, both retail and wholesale
– a detailed promotional platform domestically and internationally.

“We hope you’ll choose to be involved and record your support to the olive industry. Of course, the listing offers an invaluable opportunity to gain maximum advertising exposure for your grove including your contact details so consumers and retailers can find you in the future,” said Birrell.
