The Olives NZ 2013 Grove Census will be sent out in February, providing data currently held on each grove for update on information such as new plantings or trees removed, changes in harvest method, etc. This year’s Census will also collect additional information on how various varieties are performing on a regional basis. The 2012 Grove Census has been invaluable in providing information on the New Zealand industry (e.g.when battling a regional council on using bird scarers, to be able to show the significance/size of the industry on a local basis, and providing information for national and international authorities and publications on the NZ industry), so all members are requested to participate in this important project.
