The Auckland A & P Association has announced the winners of the 2014 Easter Show Olive Oil Awards, with the Logan Campbell Trophy and Supreme Champion oil awards going to Man O’War Olive Groves, Waiheke Island, for its Frantoio/Leccino blend. Entries this year were of a high standard and the judges awarded 31 medals in all: 6 gold medals, 14 silver and 11 bronze. Class champions: Class 1 Delicate: Koroneiki single varietal – Chapel Olive Oil, Northland; Class 2 Medium: Frantoio/Leccino blend – Man O’War Olive Groves, Waiheke Island; Class 3 Intense: Frantoio/Ascalano blend – Kowhai Close Olive Grove, Waiheke Island; Class 4 Infused Olive Oils: Lemon Infused – Oliven am Meer/Manu Korihi/Strathview Olives, Northland; Class 5 Table Olives: Traditional Olives – Telegraph Hill, Hawkes Bay.
