The ONZ executive has announced that from 2015 there will be two new classes in the NZ EVOO Awards for flavoured oils – Citrus Flavoured and Other Flavours. Flavoured oils are becoming increasingly popular with the general public and chefs, so the new classes will enable recognition of these via the NZ EVOO Awards. Eligible flavoured oil will be olive oil which is free from defects and has been flavoured. For infused oils, the base oil must be 2015 Olives NZ certified extra virgin olive oil. For agrumanto oils, the base oil must be 2015 New Zealand harvested olives. Bronze, Silver and Gold medals will be awarded, along with Best in Class and Best Flavoured Oil awards.
