Olives New Zealand are holding a seminar on Judging EVOO and Flavoured Oils, to be held in Auckland on Tuesday, 22 September. Targeted at the judges’ pool, the seminar is also open to members who have previously attended a one day tasting seminar with Olives NZ. The seminar will be delivered by expert judges Peter Olson and Margi Kirkby and will cover: NZ EVOO Awards – objectives, competition rules and judging protocols; Judging using the New Zealand-based Mario Solinas system; Tasting – revision of defects and off flavours, different styles and characteristics, tasting and scoring of 2014 NZ award winning oils, and tasting other EVOOs; and Judging Flavoured Oils.
