Professor Marc Cohen is professor of Health Science at RMIT University, Melbourne and a leader in integrative and holistic medicine. He’s also a passionate research scientist, specializing in investigating the effects of chemicals on the body. Previous studies have included organophosphates, and glyphosate in particular, along with the effects of eating an organic diet. Cohen is next planning a trial of organic food on elite athletic performance, measuring the effects of pesticides on athletes at the Australian Institute of Sport. He feels that if even a small improvement is seen with an organic diet, this study could revolutionise sports nutrition globally – and have huge ramifications for the organic industry. Cohen is looking for companies who are interested in supporting his research: if that’s you, email marc.cohen@rmit.edu.au to find out more.
