Martinborough producer D’Arc Grove was awarded a gold medal at the recent Olive Japan 2014 competition, run by the Olive Oil Sommelier Association of Japan. Only 149 golds were awarded out of 400 registrations and D’Arc Grove Blend was New Zealand’s only winner – an outstanding result for their first entry into an EVOO competition.  Owned and run by Kay and Peter Goldfinch, the 500-tree D’Arc Grove produces only a small batch EVOO blend and a Koroneki varietal EVOO.  The winning D’Arc Grove Blend combines Manzanillo, Leccino, Barnea and Frantoio,  blended to create a “unique and robust flavoured oil”. Congratulations on another great result for our quality local producers on the world EVOO stage.
