ONZ Focus Grove Project field days
The November mini Field Days held in Hawke’s Bay, Nelson, Canterbury and Wairarapa were well supported by members keen to learn how to proactively manage their olive groves and improve production. The different growing environments resulted in varying advice being given, and attendees appreciated the guidance given by (Dr) Stuart Tustin from Plant and Food Research. An international expert in tree fruit crops, Tustin has been secured as the leader of the Focus Grove Project. The final event is in Northland on Friday, 4 December at Olives on the Hill, commencing at 1pm: all members are encouraged to attend, to hear from Stuart Tustin on simple grove management practices aimed at addressing production issues.
