The Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association have announced the winners of the 2015 Royal Easter Show Olive Oil Awards. Unprecedented in the history of the competition, the Logan Campbell Trophy and the award for Supreme Champion oil for 2015, for the second year in a row, went to Man O’War Olive Groves, Waiheke Island, for it’s Frantoio/Leccino/Koroneiki blend. Organisers said entries this year, though down in numbers due to the low-yield year, were once again of a high standard and the judges awarded 23 medals in all: two Gold, 13 Silver and eight Bronze. Class champions were: Kapiti Olives Ltd, Kapiti Coast, Man O’War Olive Groves, Waiheke Island; Juno Olives, Wairarapa; Telegraph Hill, Hawkes Bay. Full results here:www.eastershow.co.nz.
