AgCAREERSTART is a structured program that introduces young Australians to a career in agriculture. Over 12 months, it will provide participants with a job, training and development, and the opportunity to participate in a broad range of opportunities in Australian agriculture.
AgCAREERSTART is an Australian Government initiative, delivered by the National Farmers’ Federation in collaboration with leading industry bodies including AgriFutures, the Primary Industries Education Foundation of Australia and a range of state and national agriculture and primary industry organisations.
The program is open to anyone under the age of 24. Participants will be provided basic safety training and will be supported with a grant for vocational training relevant to their placement farm and interests, laying the groundwork for career development in the sector.
Pilot intakes
There will be two AgCAREERSTART pilot intakes, one in early 2022 and a second towards the start
of 2023. Placements will last for up to twelve months.
