The National Biosecurity Strategy (NBS) provides a collective vision for Australia’s future biosecurity system – a biosecurity system that protects Australia’s way of life.

Underpinning the NBS, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has released the draft National Biosecurity Strategy Action Plan (Action Plan) and is inviting feedback from stakeholders.

The draft Action Plan sets the foundation for and outlines the first set of activities that will be delivered under the NBS. It was developed with input from a broad range of stakeholders including industry, environment, research, community organisations and government, and is overseen by the National Biosecurity Strategy Implementation Committee. This will be the first of several Action Plans.

Have your say on the Action Plan

Feedback is now invited on the draft Action Plan and can be provided by making a submission or completing a short survey, or both.

DAFF is also seeking expressions of interest to collaborate on activities outlined in the Action Plan. You can nominate your interest in the survey form; alternatively, by emailing nationalbiosecuritystrategy@aff.gov.au

Consultation will close at 5pm (AEST) on Thursday, 15 August 2024.
