Olives SA invites all olive oil growers, producers, processors and EVOO lovers to the 2016 Royal Adelaide Olive Awards Presentation Dinner, celebrating the best of the 2016 Australian EVOO harvest. The event will be held in The Gallery at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide on Tuesday, 30 August, commencing at 6.30pm for drinks. Tickets are $85pp, including a three-course menu and wine, and medal-winning extra virgin olive oils and table olives will also be available for tasting. Just a reminder that entries for the 2016 Olives South Australia EVOO and table olives competitions close soon, so if you haven’t got yours organized, it’s time to get moving! Reflecting changes in the industry and consumer attitudes over the past 20 years, the S.A. competition has a new name and new, innovative award classes including ‘EVOOs of Provenance’, regionally produced oils and new flavoured oil classes. Closing date for table olive entries is 5 August and for EVOO entries 12 August, ready for a display of award-winning oils at the Royal Adelaide Show, 2-11 September.
