AgriFutures Australia has released a progressive new plan to grow, innovate and drive the productivity and sustainability of Australian agriculture.
Encompassed in the recently released AgriFutures Research and Innovation Strategic Plan, the AgriFutures 16:5:5 Roadmap has been developed together with AgriFutures’ levy payers and industry partners.
The Roadmap outlines sixteen priorities in five focus areas over five years. The plan is consciously centred around driving value for AgriFutures’ thirteen levied industries, as well as delivering programs that drive innovation and address priority challenges among the broader agriculture sector.
While the olive levy and its funded R&D is managed by Hort Innovation, and olives are therefore no longer one of the industries encompassed by AgriFutures (previously RIRDC), a number of the programs and their outcomes will also no doubt be of interest – and in the long-term, of benefit – to olive producers.
