Friday, 15 October was a momentous evening for producers across Australia and beyond, as the winners of the 2021 Australian International Olive Awards were announced. As one of the drivers of product quality improvement, the competition recognises the ‘best of the best’ and a commitment to industry best practice.
Like so many events over the past 18 months, pandemic restrictions meant the event was held online as a Virtual Presentation. It retained all the glamour and excitement of the former live events, however, thanks to the hosting talent of MC extraordinaire Kent Hallett and AIOA Chief Steward Trudie Michels.
The presentation celebrated the efforts and achievements of the industry and our hard-working producers, acknowledging each medal winner and providing valuable background information on the competition and this year’s production and entry trends.
It culminated in the announcement of this year’s major awards, including the coveted Best of Show trophies, and interviews with some of the (extremely) excited winners.
For those who couldn’t ‘Zoom in’ on the night, or who’d like to re-live the excitement, a recording of the event is now available here.
The full competition results, including the downloadable 2021 Results Booklet, are also available on the AIOA website here.
