The AOA Innovation Award was established in honour of Richard Whiting, who passed away in January 2015 from a brain tumour. Actively involved in the Australian Olive Industry since 1999 at regional, state and national levels, Whiting was known for “thinking outside the box”, and interested in new ways to do things more effectively and cheaply to improve returns to growers. If you’ve got an innovative idea which fits the bill, no matter how big or how small, consider applying for this award. Entries are open now and close on Friday, 19 August, with the winner announced on Monday, 3 October at the Australian National Awards Dinner. More information and download the application form here
