Olives NZ reports that the current European shortage of EVOO, due to bad weather and pest destruction of trees in Italy, has already seen increased interest in NZ EVOO. A Japanese importer has contacted Olives New Zealand requiring 14,000+ litres of 2015 EVOO to replace their normal supply from Italy. The company has said they had previously been impressed with the reputation of NZ EVOO. This is early proof that the European shortage provides an opportunity for our local industries to progress their markets across the globe.
