Olives New Zealand received great news this week, with the approval of funding for the Focus Grove Project via the 2016 round of Sustainable Farming Fund (SFF) allocations. The organisation will receive a grant of $35,660 from the government, which boosts strong support provided to the project by member pledges. This support was in fact critical to the success of the SFF application and is an important contribution to the industry’s future strength and viability. Being led by Dr Stuart Tustin from Plant and Food Research, the project officially starts on 1 July but preliminary visits and regional field days will see the first formal feedback provided at the ONZ Conference in October. This is an important research project which will benefit the entire industry, so if you haven’t pledged your support already then download the form here and play your part in making it happen.
