The current COVID-19 restrictions have meant the AOA has had to postpone a number of up-coming events, including the national series of Healthy Soils Field Days scheduled to run between April and August.
“It’s unfortunate but necessary and we want to stress that the field days have been postponed, not cancelled, and will proceed as soon as the COVID restrictions are lifted and it’s safe to go back in the field,” AOA CEO Greg Seymour said.
“The Processing Workshop at Boort has also been postponed for 2020, due to its reliance on harvest timing for the practical element, and it will now be run again in April 2021.
Productivity technical webinar program
“Off-setting the postponement of the Field Day program, however, the AOA will be running a series of webinars on various productivity topics during the COVID-19 restriction period. The events will be free of charge and all levy payers will be able to participate.
“The AOA is currently developing the content package, which will include topics ranging from remote sensing to various aspects of grove management, optimising product quality and export marketing.
“Guest appearances will include international researchers working in Turkey and Spain, and we’ll be asking some of you to become internet stars and share some skills with your fellow producers.”
Email notices for each event will be sent to levy payers from late April, providing full webinar details and a login link. Details will also be posted on the Events section of the OliveBiz website.
