Local producers continued to make their mark on the international stage at the Olive Japan 2016 competition, taking home a total of 10 Gold and nine Silver medals. The 2016 competition received 600 entries from 21 countries, a dramatic increase from 2015’s 441 entries. Australian producers entered 25 oils, with a resulting medal score of seven Gold and seven Silver, while New Zealand took home three Gold and two Silver medals from its seven entries. Stand out local achievers this year were (Aust) Alto Olives – two Gold; Boundary Bend – four Gold, one Silver; Camilo Olives – three Silver; and (NZ) Telegraph Hill – two Gold.
