The Olive Wellness Institute’s great work just doesn’t stop, sharing user-friendly information on the health benefits of olive products via both attendance at events and its online presence.

Recent additions have focussed on the Mediterranean Diet (Med Diet) – with olive oil at its core – including a new blog on the lifestyle value of the Med Diet, and a heads-up on some great new research on its benefits for those suffering from IBS.

They’re available 24/7 on the Olive Wellness institute’s website, so click through, read and share with your networks to help spread the word.

Embracing a healthy start with the Mediterranean Diet

With a new year under way, many people are eager to make lifestyle changes to improve their health, and nutrition and diet is often the first thing that comes to mind. Unfortunately, this can lead to unhealthy or unachievable goals and an increase in fad diets.

While intentions are often admirable, following these extreme diets is generally unsustainable: they frequently cut out whole food groups and/or drastically reduce calorie/kilojoule intake – along with enjoyment!

So, this new year, instead of chasing trends that promise quick fixes, why not try a well-researched and sustainable eating pattern like the Mediterranean diet.

Research update: Mediterranean diet can improve symptoms of IBS and anxiety or depression simultaneously

A recent study from the Food and Mood Centre has shown that the Mediterranean diet is feasible in patients with IBS, and can lead to improvement in both gastrointestinal and psychological symptoms.
