The Olive Wellness Institute (OWI) is olive producers’ best friend, constantly creating new resources to inform and educate on the myriad health benefits of olive products.

Their new blog is a great example, providing the “Top 5 ways to incorporate more extra virgin olive oil into your diet” – and don’t we all want everyone doing that!

Extra virgin olive oil is widely recognised as one of the world’s healthiest oils, and is a key part of the lauded Mediterranean Diet. In fact, research shows that consuming 25-50mL (2-3 tablespoons per day) is strongly associated with health benefits in both healthy populations and those with chronic disease risk factors. Despite all this knowledge, most Australians are currently only consuming around 1 tablespoon per day.

The OWI’s blog aims to move that consumption upwards with these simple, practical tips for how to incorporate more EVOO into your daily diet. It’s all evidence-based and they include one of the best ways to up your EVOO intake, swapping out for butter in baking.
