The Olive Wellness Institute is continuing its great work promoting the health benefits of olive products, supporting a free Healthed webcast specifically for healthcare professionals.
The webcast is part of the Healthed Hot Topic Series and contributes to participants’ Continuing Professional Development accreditation.
Being run nationally tonight, 14 July, the free webcast features four speakers on wide-ranging healthcare topics, including Olive Oil, Lipids and Cardiovascular Risk, presented by Dr Jason Kaplan. Dr Kaplan is a Specialist Cardiologist and Physician, currently appointed Clinical Lead of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Medicine at Macquarie University.
Olive Oil, Lipids and Cardiovascular Risk:
Olive oil is widely perceived as beneficial, primarily in association with the Mediterranean diet. Benefits of olive oil include positive effects on inflammation, endothelial function, hypertension, insulin sensitivity and diabetes. A recent large study appears to confirm that there are specific benefits for lipid profile and cardiovascular risk. Jason will summarise the science and provide practical advice on how to implement in real life.
Other topics being presented at tonight’s webinar are Managing Borderline Personality Disorder in Primary Care; Meningococcal Disease Update; and IV Iron in General Practice: A Practical Guide – no doubt ensuring a ‘sell-out’ audience of healthcare professionals!
You can register for the webcast here.
And while the Healthed webinars are for healthcare professionals only, there’s a wealth of resources open to all available 24/7 on the Olive Wellness Institute website. Recent additions include three great new podcasts, covering a range of interesting and relevant topics around olive oil consumption and benefits.
