Nuffield Australia Farming Scholarships provide the opportunity for primary producers to participate in a life-changing experience, travel overseas and study an agricultural topic of choice.

There are more than 20 Nuffield Scholarships on offer this year, each valued at $30,000, including the inaugural Farm Biosecurity Nuffield Scholarship. Supported by the Farm Biosecurity Program, run by Plant Health Australia and Animal Health Australia, the new scholarship will enable a primary producer to study a topic specifically relevant to on-farm biosecurity.

Nuffield Scholarships allow you to research a topic that you believe will add value to the Australian agricultural industry by visiting and studying farming businesses in other countries. On completion of the study period, scholars produce a written report and communicate the new knowledge and experience to others in the industry.

You don’t need academic qualifications to apply. Scholars are selected on merit and a commitment and passion for farming, along with a drive to lead the industry forward into the future, are great qualifications to start off your application.

Applications for 2021 scholarships opened in late June and must be completed by 11 September. The interview process will be held in October/September 2020 and the scholarship commences in 2021, with individual study travel to be undertaken during 2021-22.

*NOTE: All dates and activities are subject to change due to COVID-19 restrictions. Nuffield will work with scholars if extensions are required.
