Olives New Zealand has received reports of low harvest in many regions in the North Island this year. A number of growers have no harvest and others are reporting less than 20% of what they harvested in 2014. This means that there will be a demand for certified NZ EVOO from the 2015 harvest. ONZ EO Gayle Sheridan reminded growers fortunate enough to have bulk oil for sale this year to ensure they harvest varieties separately, and also have them certified separately, as bulk purchasers rarely want blended oils. Members can list available oils on the ONZ website: contact Gayle via admin@olivesnz.org for more information.
