Want to travel overseas to explore a topic or issue that you’re passionate about it? A Churchill Fellowship may be your open door, with three Fellowships annually sponsored by the Hort Innovation Leadership Fund to drive innovation and transformation within Australia’s horticulture industry.
The opportunity to gain a Churchill Fellowship is open to any Australian wanting to explore international best practice and innovation or learn new skills from other countries. You will need to demonstrate a benefit to our community in bringing back and applying your learnings.
Applicants are empowered to design their own projects and are expected to have researched, studied or worked through their topic or issue thoroughly in Australia before applying. A Churchill Fellowship is not an academic award, and no educational qualifications are needed to apply.
Applications for the 2023 round of Churchill Fellowships will open on 1 March.
Virtual information sessions
To assist in preparing your application for a 2023 Churchill Fellowship round, a series of free online live information sessions are being held throughout February.
The first, on 1 February, has a specific focus on Agriculture and Horticulture, and will be hosted by former head of ABC Rural Leigh Radford. He will be joined by Churchill Trust CEO Adam Davey and two Churchill Fellows, who will talk about their experiences to inspire and inform.
A live Q&A session will also allow potential applicants to gain helpful advice on how to apply for a Churchill Fellowship.
