The next in the AOA’s continuing series of extension events has been scheduled, with the program building on the previous successful round of national Health Soils Field Days.
Being held at Peninsula Providore’s Nangkita Grove on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, the field day will communicate the results of a composting trial undertaken on the property. The trial was supported by the Federal Government Smart Farms Small Grant: Soil Extension Activities program.
The program will also cover a number of other relevant grove topics, including issues raised at previous field days.
The draft program will include:
- Nangkita Olive Grove walk
- Tour of Nangkita olive processing facility and pomace production
- Making compost utilising olive and olive tree waste
- Results from composting trails
- Biosecurity
- Tree Management (including pruning)
- Soil moisture monitoring and nutrition
