In the past 12 months Hort Innovation have introduced a new advisory system, with 10 Industry Service and Delivery Managers (ISDMs) appointed to meet and work with growers on the ground.
Hort says these closer connections are seeing the organisation receive an increasing number of requests from growers for information and insights to support their businesses.
The ISDMs are based in major growing regions across Australia. Each ISDM works with three to four industries and is charged with co-ordinating growers’ engagement with the latest R&D, international trade and marketing information.
ISDMs also manage the industry strategic investment advisory panels (SIAPs) that meet several times a year to advise on R&D project proposals and priorities.
Most importantly, the ISDMs are there to assist growers and to hear their views on industry R&D needs and outcomes. Whether you’re a large grower or part of a small family business, your ISDM wants to hear your ideas and help with your queries.
