The Hort Innovation data team is hosting two webinars in August that will reveal the latest consumer insights for vegetables, and fruit, dried fruit and nuts.
The information has been produced through the company’s multi-industry project Consumer usage and attitude tracking 2022/23 (MT21202), which examines what Australians think, feel, and do in relation to fresh produce.
It is based on a survey of more than 800 Australians per month, which covers everything from what we plan to buy, why we don’t buy, what we think about different categories, and much more.
The vegetable session was held yesterday, August 7 and the fruit, dried fruit and nuts session will be held tomorrow, August 9 from 11am to 12pm (AEST).
The session will highlight some of the key learnings, trends and insights discovered over the past 12 months, reviewing the fresh produce category as a whole but also discussing:
- Provenance: do Australians know where their fresh produce comes from and how much do they care?
- Sustainability: how do changing attitudes towards sustainability influence consumption?
- Emotional connection: what role do emotions play in driving demand for fresh produce?
