The AOA’s national program of Healthy Soils Field Days introduced growers to the production, financial and environmental benefits of Agtech, in particular in terms of soil moisture and irrigation monitoring.

Eligible NSW producers now have the opportunity to upscale their groves with this technology, via the NSW Government’s $20 million Farms of the Future grants program. Launched this month, the program provides up to $35,000 to eligible farm businesses to purchase the latest Agtech equipment and connectivity solutions to address their farm needs.

To be eligible for the grants, each providing between $5000 and $35,000, applicants must:

  • have a primary production enterprise in any agricultural industry with an active ABN and turnover of at least $40,000 per annum;
  • operate the primary production enterprise as a sole trader, partnership, trust or private company, or a combination of these structures;
  • have completed the Farms of the Future Training Program “Monitoring your farm with Agtech”, in-person or online and received a Certificate of Completion;

*Note: multiple training dates and locations are available from Feb-June – details here*

  • operate the primary production enterprise in an eligible local government area: Armidale, Ballina, Byron, Cabonne, Carrathool, Griffith, Leeton, Lismore, Moree Plains, Narrabri, Orange.
