The Hunter Olive Handbook was officially launched on July 10 at the Shalumar grove of Hunter Olive Association treasurer Alan Smith. The result of a comprehensive research project undertaken by the organisation, the handbook is designed as a practical reference guide to improving grove management for smaller growers. While most of the numeric content is based on data from the Hunter region, the generalised data and commentary is applicable anywhere, providing a valuable hands-on tool for problem-solving and improvement.
Building on the practical nature of the project, joint technical editor Marcelo Berlanda ran a grove workshop on the day, using the handbook as a template to talk about a range of management issues in the grove.
The handbook is now available as an e-book for AUD29.95 or USD24.95 here.
