The AOA has been forced to cancel the 2020 Processing Workshop due to issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Australian Government announced on the weekend that anyone arriving in Australia from overseas will be forced to self-isolate for 14 days; and that lockdown measures similar to those in place in European countries could be instigated if the situation worsens. This rule (law) will apply to our workshop facilitator, Pablo Canamasas, so he will be unable to present the course in person,” AOA CEO Greg Seymour said.

“Given the great uncertainty surrounding the situation in general, and the likelihood that things are likely to get worse before they get better, the AOA has made the decision to cancel the processing workshop that was scheduled to be held at Boort on 16-18 April.

“We apologise to those who have already registered and made arrangements to attend. We are in uncharted waters, however, and an early decision takes the pressure off everyone in the system, and allows us to concentrate on dealing with the likely difficult times ahead.

“Once the COVID-19 crisis has abated and there is some clarity about the future, we will revisit the workshop.”

All registration monies received to date will be refunded later this week.
