The mega-learning experience of the year is now just a month away!

The 2022 National Olive Conference & Exhibition is being held from Friday, 14 October to Sunday, 16 October inclusive in the beautiful port city of Devonport, Tasmania. The first physical event since 2019, it’s set to be a great get-together, with a jam-packed program of information to improve and inspire your olive business.

From zero waste to biennial bearing

This year’s content covers a diverse range of topics, including: zero waste, getting started in table olive production, Xylella fastidiosa, promotion and marketing, and business value-adding.

Grove management highlights include insight and learnings from the Olives New Zealand Focus Grove Project (which has seen an increase in tree production from 5kg to 25kg+ in participating groves via a targeted practice program), mechanical harvesting of table olives, and biennial bearing.

Latest products and services, personalised advice

Running concurrently with the plenary days, the Trade Exhibition will feature a range of leading olive industry suppliers and service providers, providing a chance to review your business needs and learn about the latest product innovations from experts in the field.

Most importantly, it’s an opportunity to ask questions, and get advice and recommendations, relevant to your grove and business. A list of conference exhibitors is available here and is updated regularly.

Ancillary events

For those who enjoy the ‘hands-on’ format of the AOA’s ongoing series of field days, there’s another on offer as part of the Conference event. Being held on the Friday prior to the plenary program and exhibition, the Optional Field Day will visit three local groves for learning and discussion around grove management practices.

Excitement is also building for the Australian International Olive Awards Presentation Dinner, where this year’s major winners will be announced and celebrated. Will you be named 2022 AIOA Best of Show? Be there to find out and be part of the official photographic record – the ultimate marketing tool!

And for a break from the ‘serious business’ of the plenary days, Saturday night’s Conference Dinner provides a chance to relax and catch-up with old friends and new over a casual meal and a drink or two. The dinner is included in your Conference registration and transport to the venue is provided.
